Special Group Celebrations
There will be special group celebrations for our Alfred University Golden Saxons (alumni from 1974 or prior). The New York State College of Ceramics alumni will celebrate 125 years of ingenuity and creativity. Hillel alumni are celebrating 75 years. Alpha Kappa Omicron, Delta Sigma Phi, Kappa Psi Upsilon and Lambda Chi Alpha plan to have their yearly celebrations, as well as Chamber Singer and Nursing alumni.
Volunteering
The campus will be bustling with tours, open houses, exhibitions, music and much more. There’s something planned for everyone! Help us make your Reunion the best it can be. As always, we will offer on-campus residence hall housing. You can reserve your room when registering for Reunion. Please note the Saxon Inn is currently sold out. Your name can be placed on a waiting list if you choose them for your stay. If you prefer to stay off campus, we suggest you reserve a room at one of the following establishments.

Nothing unites us like music. Join members of the Alfred Community, Alfred University, and Alfred State Alumni for an event of UNITY. Enjoy a welcoming fire pit and the first-ever CommUNITY sing-along. Well-known songs spanning the decades will ring throughout the village and bring the community together.
Stull Observatory Opens
The shuttle will depart at 10 p.m. from the academic alley (Allen Way) entrance of the Powell Campus Center. Clear skies are ideal for the best viewing experience. This activity is weather permitting.

Reunion Alumni Featured Speakers – “Israel, Oct. 7, 2023, and How the World Changed”
11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Panelists will include SUNY Albany Hillel Director Rabbi Nomi Manon ’00, Professor Emeritus of History Gary Ostrower ’61, and Alfred University President Mark Zupan. They will discuss the Oct. 7 Hamas attack on Israel, Israel’s response, the centrality of Zionism in modern Middle East history, and the impact of the Israel-Hamas War on American College campuses. A Q&A session follows the panel discussion.

New York State College of Ceramics 125th Celebration Events

- A conversation with Gabrielle Gaustad ‘04, Dean of the Inamori School of Engineering/Vice President for Statutory Affairs, Lauren Lake, Dean of the School of Art & Design, and Brian Sullivan, Dean of the Libraries, Scholes Library of Ceramics.
- Reception for 125th Anniversary Exhibition – 4 p.m.
- As part of the celebrations of the 125th anniversary of the New York State College of Ceramics, this exhibition will honor the work of NYSCC faculty (SoAD, SoE, and Scholes Library) who retired between 2020-2025. We are deeply grateful for their past contributions, which have shaped what NYSCC was, is, and will be in the future. The exhibition will be on view throughout Alumni Weekend.
